| FAQ |
Who are we?Crestwicke is a community of followers of Jesus Christ. We are a Baptist church affiliated with the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches. What time should I arrive? The morning worship service starts at 10:00am. We have plenty of parking at the church, so its not crucial to get there early. If it is your first time coming to the church it might be best to arrive at 9:45am to get parked and find a seat. What should I wear?Wear whatever you feel most comfortable in. People at our church dress in everything from jeans, to suits and ties with everything in-between! Most people wear something casual. We have no dress code but do trust that people remember we are a church and dress in a way that respects everyone who comes to the church What is your service like? Our service is a blend of music, prayer and spoken word. We read passages of scripture together and people will lead us all in prayer. As part of the service one of our pastoral staff will preach a sermon. This is usually about 30 minutes in duration. Our music is a blend of hymns, modern worship songs and reflective music. We have several worship teams; each team leads the service in a different and exciting way. Our desire is to see people worship God through music, prayer, spoken word and art. We try to make our service as friendly and free flowing as possible. Once a month (usually the first Sunday of each month), a communion service takes place as part of the 10:00am worship service What is your communion service and what happens?Communion is a time for us to remember what Jesus achieved through His death on the cross. To understand what communion means and how you can participate in the service it is much easier to explain in person! If you are concerned please telephone one of our pastors at the church before you come. There is nothing that you will find uncomfortable in our communion service, but our pastoral staff would love to spend time with you and explain the meaning and significance of why we eat bread and drink wine together. Do you use real wine in your communion service? The practice of Crestwicke has been to use grape juice to represent the wine in the communion service. What happens after the service? After the service we have a time for coffee and cookies. This gives everyone the opportunity to get to know other people better and spend time with each other. If you come to the service there is no obligation to stay for coffee, just participate in what you are comfortable with. What is Sunday School?Sunday school takes place after our service for adults. The children leave for their program during the worship service and are available to be collected by parents or guardians after the adult Sunday school time. Sunday school is a time for adults and children to understand more about the bible. Sunday school is much more informal than church. We provide a time for you to ask questions about the service and to interact with the pastors. There is no obligation to stay for adult Sunday school, please feel free to do what makes you most comfortable. What provision do you make for disabled people? All are welcome at Crestwicke. Our building is fully accessible for wheelchairs and people with disabilities. The top level of parking is dedicated for disabled parking and parking for our elderly members. I have specific questions; how can I get them answered? If you want to get any answer to any question please email one of our pastors or call the office, we are here to help! |
