Register soon as space is limited! We also still have some spaces in our JK class. Both programs qualify as daycare and as such tax receipts are provided. Miss Wood - Grade 4
Miss Wood graduated from Redeemer University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Music.  She then spent three years teaching at Mississauga Christian Academy before returning to Crestwicke as a staff member in 2001. For the 2006-07 school year she took a leave of absence from Crestwicke to teach overseas at the International Academy of Suriname.  She taught grade four in every school she’s been in and it’s still her favourite grade!

“My love of learning began right here at Crestwicke as a timid four year old in Mrs. Durose’s class on my first day of JK.  Since then I’ve had the blessing of being taught by many wonderful teachers who have inspired me to enter the challenging and rewarding profession of teaching.”

“I feel blessed to be part of influencing young lives here at Crestwicke.  I enjoy working with parents and my fellow staff members to cultivate a love of learning, a deeper faith in God, and good character in the students God places in my classroom.”

Mr. Ellis - Grade 5
Mr. Ellis attended
the Ontario Bible College and graduated with a Bachelor of Religious Education. Then it was onto the University of Waterloo for a Bachelor of Arts in History. He started his career at Timothy Christian School in Barrie where he taught for 13 years. Eighteen years ago he began teaching at Crestwicke and in 1996, he enrolled in a Masters program at Pensacola Christian College & received his Masters in Elementary Education (M.Ed.).

“My calling to be a teacher started many years ago. I knew I wanted to work with children when my little brother was growing up. I was 13 when he was born and by the time he was 5 years old, I was the one who took him to his swimming lessons and hockey games. I believe that the Lord gives those opportunities to practice the gifts that He has given to us.”

Miss Baumann - Grade 8
Miss Baumann earned a two-year Biblical Studies Diploma from Kawartha Lakes Bible College. She also studied at Heritage Baptist College and earned a Bachelor of Christian Education.  As well, she maintains an educators certificate from the Association of Christian Schools International.

“Teaching at Crestwicke has been a blessing in my life.  I enjoy the opportunity to share my faith with my students in various contexts.  I also enjoy the freedom of being able to use my creativity and encourage my students to do the same.  It is exciting to see a class of grade eights grow and mature so they are ready to face the world of high school.  My favourite aspect of teaching at Crestwicke is getting to know my students inside and outside the classroom.  In the fall, the grade eight class takes a two day retreat to spend time together as a class.  We also finish off the year with a four day graduation trip.  Through the time spent together, I love to discover the individual gifts God has given my students and encourage them to use their abilities to serve others.”
