Crestwicke participates in a limited number of fundraising campaigns but we often have a walk-a-thon or an auction.
This year we had an auction on May 15, 2010. What an amazing day we had as we participated in the Family Fun Day and Auction. We had two clowns to meet and greet guests and hand out balloons. Another clown, Aunt Dot, face-painted and made fantastic balloon creations for the kids. There was a magician, free popcorn and candy floss, a Tiger Belly bouncer, AirBall Hockey and Monster Basketball.
And if that wasn’t enough fun… there was a Dunk Tank! School staff, pastors and parents took turns in the tank. It was a chilly day but the tank was warm, so it was a win/win when the participants hit the target…they were as happy as the dunkees! We also had the BBQ humming along and combos could be purchased at the low price of $2 for a hamburger or hotdog, a drink and a bag of chips. All proceeds from the Dunk Tank and BBQ went to the school.
What a great turnout we had! Someone estimated the number of people in attendance was around 700. The Silent Auction was a great success and the fun vamped up again when the Live Auction started. Smiles were everywhere to be seen and it was a good thing too, since the Guelph Tribune and Snap dropped by to photograph the event. Be looking for a photo in those newspapers. So all in all, the event was a great success! Thank you to everyone who donated and to all who gave of their time to set up and put away afterwards.
With everyone’s help we were able to raise just over $12,000.00 for the academy.
